It’s the end of the line.

WICKED has taken everything from Thomas: his life, his memories, and now his only friends—the Gladers. But it’s finally over. The trials are complete, after one final test.

Will anyone survive?

What WICKED doesn’t know is that Thomas remembers far more than they think. And it’s enough to prove that he can’t believe a word of what they say.

The truth will be terrifying.

Thomas beat the Maze. He survived the Scorch. He’ll risk anything to save his friends. But the truth might be what ends it all.

The time for lies is over.

Review

Many have hated how this series ended. And honestly, I don’t know how I felt after reading it. Maybe this is what happens when you don’t expect anything. For obviously, I already have an idea for a hanging ending. (c/o goodreads reviewers) But I was just so curious on how the author will do it. Whether this book would still entertain me or not. And mind you guys, I guess my hangover from this book will extend after knowing that Teresa and Newt are gone for good. Sorry for the unexcused spoiler guys. It’s just that, I’m so heartbroken huhu. (expect more spoilers in the next paragraphs)

I know many of the readers of this series hated Teresa after reading The Scorch Trials, but weirdly for me, I don’t. But instead, I was confused. I don’t know what’s wrong with my head, for even after what she’d done to Thomas, I’m still rooting for them. But sad as it is, we can’t have everything in this world right? And what’s crazy is that, she’s dead and so is my love, Newt. (forgive me for being so redundant, haha) But seriously, I really thought Newt would be one of the survivors. And it was even heartbreaking what happened to him. Oh men! I guess him being dead is way better than seeing him reaching Gone. But it still didn’t stop me from crying over my lost love. Oh Newt, I’m going to miss you. And his revelation about his limp is totally heartbreaking. Huhu. And about Teresa’s death, oh well, that was also unexpected. I already pictured out Thomas and Teresa not being together in the end, but Teresa being dead? Seriously?! And that happens so fast that I need to reread it again and again to check whether I read it right or not. Oh well, I guess it’s the author’s idea to cut the predictable output of Thomas and Teresa’s ending, which is, getting back together. So I forgive the author for that (peace yow)

As expected, this story is full of suspense and action. Of all three books (excluding The Kill Order), my favorite would be the first book, and the least favorite would be the second. This final book sounds reasonable for me, though the ending was a bit hanging I would say. But after all that happens, I guess it’s going to be hard to expect such a happy ending right? I’m not satisfied with the ending, but I don’t hate it. Atleast Minho’s in there, *wink. So glad he reached that far eh? But honestly guys, I did really expect for some cure. Well, I guess we need to put all the blame in the title eh? Or maybe to the WICKED? Haha. Just because I don’t love the ending it deserves a lower rating? It just seems not right for me. This story made me glued to it until the end. It made me feel a lot of emotions too. The end doesn’t justifies the means right?

As mentioned above, this book is full of kickin’ suspense, action, and a lot more that I want you to discover for yourself, *wink. It didn’t have its fairytale-like ending but atleast all of the Munies we’re safe in their new home. And speaking of home, I want to extend my goodluck to Thomas. Expect more clingingness from Brenda 😛 (such a bitter eh? Haha)

I never expected how happy I would feel after finishing this series. And I’m glad I chose this to be my first. I can’t thank the author enough for this epic series and I am looking forward to more of his books. I hope next time it’s going to have a happy ending eh?

Heart pounding, mind boggling, nerve wracking, you name it all. It’s all here in this series.
